“For he will give his angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways.” (Psalm 91:11)
Scripture mentions angel or angels 275 times in the Bible. God uses them as His messengers. They minister to people, they provide protection and they worship God.
First lesson for angels in training: Preventing Possible Hysterics. “Fear Not”. “Do not be afraid.” You will need to say these in varying forms frequently during your missions. God’s messengers, His angels, probably do not resemble any of the cute angels I hang on my tree every year.
In Revelation, John falls at the feet of the angel to worship him. The angel quickly tells John not to worship him. They are a fellow servant of God. Anything that takes the place of God in our lives has the potential to become an idol.
Throughout the Bible story, God gives us a picture of His Glory and our purpose in His story. We are meant to reflect his glory. To be his messengers. He gives us the same job as the angels. I am so humbled that God uses me to deliver His message. I don’t always feel like a good reflection of His story. Some days to keep it real He reminds me He also uses donkeys to deliver messages.
I pray today you will see your place in His story.
